Famous Banksy Artwork Stolen From London Gallery

Two men have been charged by the Metropolitan Police with burglary in connection with the theft of a well-known Banksy piece from a London gallery.

Accused of non-residential burglary, Larry Fraser, 47, and James Love, 53, were placed under remand in custody on Thursday.

The pair of men made an appearance at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court and were granted bail to appear, at Kingston Crown Court on Wednesday, October 9.

It comes after the Met’s Flying Squad looked into a Sunday, September 8, burglary at a gallery on New Cavendish Street in Westminster.

Banksy’s ‘Girl with Balloon’ piece was the only thing taken during the incident.

Since then, the artwork has been found by the police, who are currently preparing to return it to the gallery.

The anonymous street artist Banksy gained notoriety in August when he displayed nine works of art in nine days straight throughout London.
