London Police Detectives Investigating Notting Hill Carnival Murder – Footages of 16

At Queensway, W2, at 23:22 on Monday, August 26, 41-year-old Mussie Imnetu was discovered unconscious with a head injury. He was on a visit to the UK from Dubai, where he was employed and resided.

Before paramedics arrived, officers gave emergency first aid. After being brought to a hospital in west London, Mussie tragically passed away on Friday, August 30, despite the best efforts of the medical staff there.

The investigation into Mussie’s murder is being handled by detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, who today made public photographs of individuals they think may have knowledge of the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our inquiry is moving along quickly, and a man has been charged in relation to the assault. Still, we would be very interested in speaking with anyone, who can piece together Mussie’s movements between the time he left The Arts Club on Dover Street, W1, at 13:00 and the time he arrived at the Dr. Power restaurant in Queensway at 22:30.

“There are several people in our image, who were inside or close to the Dr. Power restaurant. When the attack happened. Do you recognize any of the people in the picture or are you one of them? Before or after the attack, did you hear or see anything, that might be useful to the investigation?

“I want to emphasize that none of the people in the picture have done anything improper. I strongly advise them to get in touch with us because they might have been taking part in post-carnival festivities and may not even be locals, but they might know something that would be helpful to the investigation.
