After reports of an altercation, police opened fire on a man in a Surrey village. They were critically injuring him.

The man is in a hospital and is in his 20s.

Shortly after midnight, Surrey Police received reports of an “altercation” in the street on Nursery Road, Knaphill. It involved, two individuals one of whom was armed.

After being shot, one of them was sent to the hospital. Where he is still in critical but stable condition. After being shot, one of them was sent to the hospital. where he is still in critical but stable condition.

It is believed that both are connected.

Officers collected a weapon from the scene.

Surrey Police made, an obligatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). A watchdog organization.
