VP Kamala Harris Nominated for President Candidacy

Democratic delegates have endorsed Kamala Harris. Yet the official nomination has not been declared.

Support from the California delegation raises the Harris above the required threshold. At the party’s Chicago convention.

After receiving the required support from delegates. Kamala Harris declared her eagerness to “formally accept the [presidential] nomination” of the Democratic party.

“I said I intended to go out and earn this nomination when I announced my campaign for president,”

As a daughter of California, I’m proud that I was able to garner the broad support necessary to become our party’s nominee tonight, and I’m also proud of the delegation from my home state for helping to elevate our campaign. I’m excited to accept the nomination in writing shortly.

A representative California Democrative confirmed. Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi made the motion to support Harris for president. Confirmed on Monday night during a virtual meeting.

With the support of California’s delegation, Pelosi—who serves as Congresswoman for San Francisco—announced in August. Harris had amassed enough delegates to secure the Democratic nomination for president.

Leading Democrats came together earlier on Monday to back Harris in her campaign against Republican Donald Trump.

Earlier on Monday, she gave a preview of her strategy for taking on Trump during a speech. She gave Preview to campaign staff in Wilmington, Delaware. She referred to her opponent, a convicted felon found guilty of sexual assault in a civil court. as “I am aware of  Trump’s character. It has been determined by other courts that fraud was committed in his private university, charitable foundation, and business.

She also positioned herself as an advocate for access to abortion and economic opportunity. “We are fighting for freedoms as much as for the future,” she declared. The baton is in our possession.

“I’ll be doing whatever Kamala Harris wants me or needs me to do,” Biden, who is recuperating from COVID-19 at his Rehoboth home, said over the phone to the staff after announcing that he would be out on the campaign trail for Harris.

Biden told Harris, “I love you, kid,” as she took the mic to address the staff. “I love you, Joe,” Harris said with her hands clasped over her heart.

Joe Biden’s withdrawal allowed his delegates to cast their ballots for any candidate at the convention the following month. Furthermore, Harris moved rapidly to win over a majority of voters, something that Biden supported after he withdrew from the race.

A shrinking list of possible opponents was left behind by well-known endorsements on Monday, which came from governors Andy Beshear of Kentucky, Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, JB Pritzker of Illinois, and Wes Moore of Maryland.

An Associated Press count shows that Harris had 2,668 delegates. Far more than the 1,976 delegates required for a simple majority to win the nomination in the first round.

According to the AP, the survey is not official because Democratic delegates are free to select the candidate of their choice. when the party officially selects a nominee. There was still time for delegates to change their minds before August 7th, but according to the AP survey, 57 delegates stated they were unsure. No other candidates received any votes.

Pelosi, one of the prominent dissenters who had originally favored a primary to fortify the eventual nominee, declared that she was offering Harris’s bid for the party leadership her “enthusiastic support.”

“In the USA Harris is one of the most brilliant political women, and I have no doubts about Harris Victory in November, Pelosi said.

Pelosi’s office verified Harris’s support.
