14 year old daniel found dead

The coastguard discovered a body off the coast of New Brighton, Merseyside, following the disappearance of a 14-year-old boy in the water last month.

The body was discovered on Monday night, according to Merseyside police, and although an official identification has not yet taken place, “officers remain in contact with the family of Daniel Halliday.”

On Sunday, June 30, at Crosby Beach, the teenager vanished. Before running into trouble in the water, he and his friends had been swimming in the River Mersey.

His family said last week in a statement that he was jumping waves with his older brother, who made an attempt to save him, but the current was too powerful.

“Our deepest worry is that our beautiful boy has been taken from us by this terrible accident. “Daniel is a loving brother, nephew, cousin, grandson, and son. The family is inconsolable, and we sincerely hope that we will be granted privacy at this time.

According to earlier statements from Merseyside police, other group members realised they were separated from Daniel after emerging from the river.

A coastguard helicopter, RNLI lifeboats, fire and rescue personnel, and ambulance personnel all joined the search after the alarm was raised. After fifteen hours, the effort was halted “pending further information.”

While a search was conducted, a portion of the beach near the Seaforth radar tower was off-limits to the general public, and anyone in the vicinity was directed away from the beach.

Popular beach Crosby is the location of sculptor Antony Gormley’s Another Place installation, which consists of a hundred cast-iron figures facing out to sea and spanning the shoreline.

South of Crosby, on the other side of the River Mersey’s mouth, sits New Brighton, perched atop the Wirral peninsula.
