BBC Sports Analyst Jermaine Jenas Former Footballer Accepted His Wrong Act and Expressed His Embarrassment

Jermaine Jenas felt ashamed and apologized for his act after being sacked by BBC. He believes his behavior wasn’t illegal.

The BBC removed the presenter of Match of the Day and The One Show from the lineup on Thursday after allegations that he had sent inappropriate messages to two female fellow workers.

“I am deeply sorry and I am ashamed of my act,” the 41-year-old former football player expressed his regret.

“Especially the women I was messaging. I owe everyone an apology for letting myself, my family, friends and colleagues down. I apologize profusely.

“I apologize for the suffering I caused them to endure. It seems reasonable to say, that I have an issue.

“I know I need help. I know I self-destruct and self-sabotage, especially when it comes to my relationships and assistance is being given to me.

There are a lot of questions I am asking myself at the moment. due to the numerous errors I have made. I am aware, that there will be much work to be done and it will not be easy.

Although Jenas acknowledged, that he did not meet the level of accountability that “needs to be upheld, when you’re a member of the BBC,” he maintained that there was no criminal activity.

“I did nothing illegal; these were inappropriate messages exchanged between two consenting adults.” he said.

Following the statement, “We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line-up,” was made by a BBC spokesperson.

Jenas said: “I’m not pleased with the words or the writing I did. And while nothing physical ever happened, I do think it is cheating.
