Anti-Racism Protesters Came Out Today In London and Other Cities

Anti-Racism Proteste

After a week of rioting and disorder against immigrants, thousands of anti-racism demonstrators have gathered in cities and towns throughout England.

Protesters chanting “refugees are welcome here” made up the majority of the crowds at mostly peaceful gatherings in areas where anti-immigration demonstrations had been anticipated, such as north London, Bristol, and Newcastle.

Thousands of officers deployed, and over 100 events were planned, as police prepared for more violence.

A total of 2,000 officers put on standby while city employees ordered to vacate their offices and GP offices closed early. Shops boarded up in numerous towns and cities due to concerns about additional rioting.
